Overview and Objective
A cancer diagnosis brings a world of uncertainty, from choosing the best treatment to understanding potential side effects. Patients and their loved ones often feel overwhelmed by the unknowns.
We collaborated with the Texas Center for Proton Therapy to create an immersive experience that helps patients, caregivers, and loved ones understand what to expect during proton therapy treatment.
This initiative aimed to provide comfort, set clear expectations, and make the journey through proton therapy easier to navigate. As a result, this experience has increased traffic to the Proton Center, making it a preferred choice for eligible patients across Texas.
Key Insights
- Addressing uncertainty: Patients and their loved ones face significant uncertainty and have numerous questions regarding cancer care.
- Restoring control: Any understanding of what to expect before arriving for an appointment helps restore a sense of control over their health.
- Realistic representation: The experience should accurately reflect the facility as much as possible, avoiding strictly representational or artistic renderings to alleviate as much emotional pain as possible.
